Creative Economies in Africa
About the Book Series
This short-form book series promotes new research and academic reflections on the development of creative economies in Africa. It welcomes individually authored contributions as well as edited collections on a specific theme. It is intended to be a multidisciplinary platform where researchers across arts management, geography, cultural policy, media studies, cultural economics, development studies and beyond can come together in dialogue. The series promoted within the development of a new International Association for Creative Economies Research in Africa (IACERA) https://www.creative-economies-africa.org/international-association-for-creative-economies-research-in-africa-iacera/ supports more recognition, investment and opportunities in researching African creative economies. It also hopes to become a go-to forum for materials relevant to education and training in these fields across Africa and globally and aspires to give more visibility to the research of new and emerging scholars from the African continent and support their career development. These are some of the key themes and perspectives of interest to the series:
- The work, management and policy practices that shape and support creative and cultural development across African countries, across the arts, media, digital and broader creative disciplines.
- The geographical, economic and political dynamics and debates that shape the development of creative economies regionally, nationally and internationally in Africa.
- The value of cultural, community and heritage-based knowledge and traditions and their value from a social, cultural and economic perspective.
