About the Book Series
The Interdisciplinary Centre for Comparative Research in the Social Sciences (ICCR) was founded in 1986 with the aim of designing and promoting interdisciplinary and transnational research. ICCR research is guided by the conviction that the current societal issues can only be analyzed in a meaningful way by addressing a broad range of themes and by co-operation with other scientific disciplines. This philosophy is reflected in the books in this series which cover issues such as the social and political shaping of technologies, environmental sustainability, the competitiveness of national economies and the effects of globalization on the modern world.
