Routledge Social Justice Communication Activism Series
About the Book Series
The study of social justice activism, in particular, has expanded significantly beyond studying communication enacted by social justice activist individuals, groups, and organizations, to include “social justice communication activism (SJCA).” SJCA research and pedagogy refers, respectively, to researchers using and teachers offering students opportunities to use their communication knowledge, resources, and competencies to engage in, study, and report their collaborative communication interventions, facilitations, and other actions (hereafter, interventions) to advance the social justice goals of communities experiencing social injustices and/or activist groups and organizations.
This series publishes books to aid SJCA educators and researchers. This series seeks to (a) weave SJCA into all levels of the communication curriculum, with books serving as primary or supplementary texts for the wide range of undergraduate and graduate communication courses taught; and (b) create invaluable resources for communication scholars who engage or want to engage in SJCA research and/or teaching.
Accordingly, proposals are welcomed for either course textbooks and supplemental books or for authored and edited books for researchers and educators. To discuss proposals for this book series, please contact Larry Frey at [email protected].
